Rémi Bourgeot is an economist and an associate research fellow at IRIS. He has led a dual career as an investment strategist in the financial sector and as an economic and technological expert.

 

His work centres on technological, trade and monetary issues, with a particular focus on the implications of the fourth industrial revolution and the crisis of globalisation. His research projects include the development of central bank digital currencies.

 

He has a special interest in the implications of these issues for Europe, especially from a Franco-German perspective. He also monitors monetary and development trends in the major emerging economies, having worked on Turkey and the Middle East as well as Asia, with regard to macro-financial imbalances and energy policy.

 

Rémi is an engineer from the Higher Institute for Aeronautics and Space (ISAE-SupAéro), he holds a Master’s degree from the Toulouse School of Economics and a PhD from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS) in Paris.
