Pascal Dupont is a research associate at IRIS and a consultant.  His main areas of expertise are defence and security issues, law and international relations.

 

Pascal Dupont was appointed Brigadier general on 31 August 2022 and has thirty-eight years’ military service. After serving as administrative and financial director of air bases, he completed his studies at the Ecole de Guerre, where he held management and expert positions in public procurement, public finance and international law within the Ministry of the Armed Forces. Placed on secondment for two years with Défense Conseil International, he took part in a number of overseas operations and was posted to NATO on several occasions (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Turkey and the French Permanent Representation in Brussels). He was a military expert for the French Senate’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee and then deputy finance advisor to the Prime Minister’s military Cabinet Chief.

 

A Doctor of Law from the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, he holds a Master 2 in Employment Law (Paris 2), a Master 2 in International Transport (Paris 1) and a Master 2 in the History of Strategic Doctrines from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (Paris 4). He is also a former auditor at the Institut des Hautes Etudes pour la Sécurité et la Justice (INHESJ). General Secretary of the French Society of Air and Space Law (SFDAS), he is a member of the French Air and Space Academy and the National Defence Studies Committee.
