Jean-Vincent Brisset is an Associate Research Fellow at the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS).

 

Born in February 1949, brigadier general (e.r.) Jean-Vincent Brisset graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Guerre aérienne. He is an engineer of the Ecole de l’Air, and is certificated fighter pilot. He studied Chinese at the French Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO), and then stayed at the Taipei University before living in Beijing for three years.

 

Former auditor at the Centre des Hautes études pour l’Afrique et l’Asie Moderne, he specializes in Asian issues, where he has executed several missions, especially in Chinese affairs.

 

He left his military activities in 2001 and works now on international relations and defense issues.
