Assen Slim is an associate research fellow at IRIS.
Assen Slim is a graduate of the department of international economics at Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne). In December 1997, he received his Ph. D. The title of his doctoral dissertation was “Regional economic integration and disintegration: from CMEA to new economic alliances in Eastern Europe”. He has undergone academic and professional training in France and Bulgaria.
Since September, 1999, he has held the position of “Maître de conferences” at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilisations (Inalco – Langues’O) of Paris and teaches also at Essca. Since September 2009, he’s held the position of Head of The High International Studies Department (HEI) of Inalco.
