Publication of the Report by IRIS and Partners “Preventing criminal risks linked to sports betting market” (#PreCrimBet)
IRIS and its European partners are pleased to announce the publication of the report that concludes the first phase of the EU PreCrimBet (Preventing criminal risks linked to the sports betting market) programme.
This report combines the analysis of contemporary criminal behaviour with the evolutions of the sports betting market at world level, with the objective to identify vulnerabilities in the regulation and protection of sports betting from threats of criminal infiltration, money laundering, illegal bets, cybercrime or match-fixing.
It proposes a risk-assessment of the EU betting markets, as well as 14 recommendations for national and European authorities to prevent sports betting from being used for criminal purposes. The findings will be promoted in the national seminars that IRIS will coordinate in 12 EU Member States until May 2017.
